This is a photogaphic blog with a particular focus on walking the Spanish Caminos. Also included are walks in The New Forest, Wales and Southern England.

2 5 2011. A circular walk from Broadchalk.

We decided to experience some of the verdant tracks and drove roads of Wiltshire rather than the open heathland of the New Forest and it was a beautiful walk which exceeded expectations. Particularly since I said it would be about a 10 mile walk and it turned out to be over 15! Oops.

That road looks like someplace you'd see a medieval pilgrim coming up!

It is possible that medieval pilgrims would have used this path. This area has been inhabited since the stone age and this track goes to Salisbury which was a medieval pilgrim destination. The local museum has many medieval pilgrim souvenirs including scallop shell artifacts and jewellery.
